HOW IS EYELID SURGERY DONE?
Upper or lower blepharoplasty is a cosmetic surgery that is performed on both men and women. During the initial consult, treatment options will be discussed with Dr. Nuveen or Dr. Caplin based on your symptoms that need to be addressed. In most cases, ideal candidates suffer from excess, hanging skin and folds that exist on the top eyelid, or puffy skin just under the bottom eyelid. If you have loose skin that droops on the upper eyelid or bags and circles under the eyes, blepharoplasty can correct this to provide you with a softer appearance. This procedure may be done on the upper eyelid alone, on the bottom portion, or a combination of both treatments. Eyelid surgery can take up to two hours, depending on whether both eyes or one is treated.
